Ardmore Ceramic Art was established by Fée Halsted on Ardmore Farm in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains of KwaZulu-Natal. Today you’ll find the bustling studio and gallery in the picturesque Caversham Valley in South Africa’s Natal Midlands. Their ceramics are made by local artists – ordinary people from the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, who are given training, materials, a studio and a guaranteed market for their work, under the guidance of their founder, Fée Halsted. Ardmore derives from the Gaelic word for ‘high place’ and is Latin for zealous or ardent; it is this passion and energy that has driven Fée Halsted to strive for excellence since her earliest days. In 2013 they launch their new company. Ardmore Design. Which translates Ardmore designs into fabrics, furnishings and design objects.
